Ibanez SV420 FM Reviews 5

Paid about $550 for this guitar back in 1997. Hadn't really been looking for a new guitar, but once I played it... Flamed maple body, maple neck with rosewood fretboard and gold hardware. Tremelo with locking tuners on the headstock.

I love the body on this guitar. The S series guitars fit my body like no other. Almost an extension of myself. The neck is very fast (though I'm not) and the fit and finish are top notch. The two humbuckers are very quiet with no annoying hum. I can attain a wide variety of sounds between the two from a warm fat hollowbody jazz sound to a piercing soloist type guitar. The action is perfect and I've never had to adjust the guitar in the 6 years I've owned it. It just doesn't change!

No complaints.

This guitar has NEVER failed me. Never any electrical issues or tuning machine problems...nothing! Stays in tune seemingly forever.

I've played for about 20 years and used to buy a new guitar every couple of years (Strats, Les Paul and many others). Since I bought this guitar in 1997, I have never even considered anything else. I like the PRS guitars a lot but at 1/4 the price, my Ibanez will be staying with me for a long time.
